I worked with Rajan when we were both serving on the committee of the Consultants' Network in the Institution of Engineering & Technology (2007-9 although it feels as if I've known him a lot longer!). I will always remember his bright, smiling eyes and penetrating questions. The IET CN also runs a discussion group, a loose association of some 300 engineering consultants in which Rajan also very active. His contributions were valuable, insightful and helpful, as was he. One of his passions was making organisations work together and he was the driving force behind the creation of the Joint Consultants' Forum which aimed to serve consultants from the various engineering institutions. He was also a very active member of the BCS which provided an important link between consultants in the two Institutions. On behalf of the CN committee members, the discussion group members, and myself, I'd like to record my thanks to Rajan for all he did for us and for engineering consultants.
